| Copiapo, Chile is a small town is located about 500 Km. south of Antofagasta and is situated in the fertile Copiapo River valley, an oasis in the desert. Good day tours are available to see the valley and in Copaipo the San Francisco Church and Convent founded in 1662 is certainly worth a visit. It has some good quality hotels and restraints to fit any traveler's taste or budget. Recently in the news because of the rescue of the miners trapped in a nearby mine. |
